Our membership includes men and women who served in the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard. Our members served in the Vietnam War, Korea, Desert Storm, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Our common bond is serving in a war or conflict overseas. We are dedicated to our mission and value God, Country and Family.
Eligibility
Criteria. There are three qualifiers, all must be met, for membership in the VFW.
1. Must be a US Citizen or US National.
2. Performed honorable service in the Armed Forces of the United States. Must have a discharge of Honorable or General (Under Honorable Conditions) or currently serving.
3. Served in any foreign war, insurrection, or expedition,
which service is recognized by the award of a campaign or service medal of the
United States; or who served in the
Korean Peninsula, its airspace, and territorial waters for 30
consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days of duty, since June 30, 1949; or

Proof of
service. Must submit a DD Form 214 to document the award of an eligible campaign medal for VFW membership. Contact VFW Post 8273 for proof of service needed for 30 consecutive or 60 non-consecutive days of duty in the Korean Peninsula, Hostile Fire or Imminent Danger Pay, or currently serving in the Armed Forces of the United States.
Application Process. Submit a completed application along with a copy a DD Form 214, or other documentation for proof of service, and payment for selected membership to VFW Post 8273. Have questions contact us.
