WOMEN VETERANS

Our mission: to commemorate women in the military who went before us, to support women in the military, and to foster camaraderie among women veterans.

VFW Post 8273 Commemorated Women Veterans Day in Texas

The women veterans in our post met on Sunday, June 11th for brunch at the Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco to celebrate Women Veterans Day in Texas (June 12).  Texas State Representative Victoria Neave filed House Bill 2698 during the 85th Texas legislative session, to designate June 12 each year thereafter as Women Veterans Day in Texas.  It was signed into law by Governor Greg Abbot on June 9, 2017.   Women Veterans Day in Texas recognizes and honors the approximately 177,500 women veterans living in the state of Texas.
